Name: Avaric
Nickname: None or Avi, though no one really calls him so.
Gender: Male
Height: 5'9
Age: It’s unknown just exactly how hold Avaric is, though he has been around for a very, very long time, probably more then anyone truly knows. In spite of his true age though, he appears to be around the human age of 20 years.
Species: Angel
Appearance:
[x]
Avaric is notably handsome and this detail is not lost on the Angel..though he seems to ignore it most of the time. He has nearly flawless, peach toned skin and dominantly black hair. It’s cut short and falls just below his chin in a messy, layered style. A few wisps of white fall from the top of his head, and darker crimson frame the sides of his face, with long bangs dropping between his eyes. Avaric’s eyes are thin and tend to possess a constant calculating look. They are a fair white gold in color and are framed with dark black, racoon like rings, giving them a sunken but not altogether distasteful look. In addition, the Angel has a few pieces of silver jewelry, including a bracelet and skull piece over the glove on his right hand, and an odd, twisted piece of metal attached underneath his right eye.
Avaric sometimes changes his outfit depending on his mood and the current climate, though he normally stays in the same thing if he has the choice. It consists of a long black trench coat with a large, wide folded collar. It ends just above his ankles for easier movement and has long, light sleeves. Underneath, Avaric wears a long sleeved mesh shirt with a low neckline, and a shorter black shirt over it. This has shorter sleeves, and ends just at the end of his chest, revealing most of his stomach and that part of the mesh shirt. Around his neck he also wears a large, loose leather collar and his pants are a simple black material, falling over dark boots. His wings are about twice the size of his body and are composed of obsidian colored feathers with a blue tint. He can discard his wings however when he wants to do unnoticed, and they crumble into ash.
The Angel’s most defining feature however, is his left arm. Instead of being made of flesh, it is composed of a silver, mercury like metal that is incredibly durable and nearly unbreakable. It’s attached in place just like a natural arm should be and functions the same, but the metal connects and continues down part of his upper left side in a twisted and almost melted fashion. The arm seems to be able to make small, minor changes to it’s physical shape, which include forming to make a small, three inch blade that begins at his knuckles and a hollowed sheath for his sword on the underside of his wrist.
Personality: Always calculating his movements and incalculably dangerous, Avaric seems to take the time to think everything over, even the shortest of sentences. Quiet, yet severe, he appears to analyze, storing every little piece of information he finds and is incredibly impassive. Something of an enigma, it’s hard to decipher his exact emotion and his constant poker face makes him hard to read. Intelligent, Avaric can come of as cold and distant, answering or asking questions of a cryptic nature and never getting straight to the point unless he wants to. He’s polite, though sometimes his good manners can be seen as mocking. But even in spite of his seemingly blank persona, Avaric is completely unpredictable. His exact motives are hardly ever clear and it’s unlikely that he’ll willingly divulge them. Even so, he wouldn’t hesitate to kill anyone or anything if he feels the need. His presence also seems to silently command some air of feared respect. But most of the time, he seems to just not care and is truly only out to benefit himself and his own ambitions.
History:
Faith has never been something that our race has had in volumes--ironic, but true.
It has never been needed, for we already possessed the knowledge of such celestial things. It has always been our nature.
Repentance is not possible. Sins are irreversible.
And free will...is nothing more than a consequence.
The exact nature of Avaric’s betrayal is not widely known, and the Angel doesn’t seem inclined to share it any time soon. Before Falling, Avaric had been a loyal subordinate of the Heavens and one of the first few Generals ever created. But as the years past, something happened which culminated in his planned public execution and then inevitable escape from the Heavens. Afterwards, the Angel disappeared from notice for a long amount of time, rising again as a favored subordinate of Lucifer. As of now, he sometimes does the devil’s bidding, but he still seems to be following his own plans– the motives of which are still unknown, and whether they reside in Lucifer’s favor or not.
Powers: As an Angel of high skill and a close subordinate of Lucifer, Avaric has a greater then normal control over a strange, beautiful plasma like substance. When he channels it, it seems to form into an almost star-like matter and can become both incredibly hot or cold depending on his will. He uses this both offensively and defensively, using large amounts of the energy as projectiles and also as a shield. He also uses it in combination with his blade, and when channeled though his false arm it seems to increase in strength, since the arm was ‘gifted’ to him by Lucifer. Avaric also has enhanced strength, speed and healing power, like most Angels. In order to blend in and disappear when he wants to, Avaric can also take the form of a small and thin cat with a sleek, inky black coat.
Weapons: Avaric wields a large curved sword (Nodachi) with impressive skill. The blade is the same white gold color as his eyes, and he can adjust the length of the blade at will by shortening or lengthening it. Because of this, he stores the shortened blade in a small sheath that he forms with the metal of his left arm at the base of his wrist, easily concealing it and providing quick access.
Weaknesses: Avaric’s powers are notably stronger in the dark then in the bright sunlight and he also seems to be bothered somewhat by constant exposure to it.
