The boy stared down at the crystalline waters, not saying a word. His reflection peered back at him, shimmering as the pale gray sunlight reflected off the surface. The circles under his eyes seemed darker then before..but then again, he hadn't been sleeping well either. Some nights he did..but most left him wide awake and full of frantic energy.
That he still went through most days feeling like a spectator in his own life was another problem. And in a way..that was true. Even if he didn't fully realize it.
"Damn you." Takumi whispered to no one in particular, voice pained. Still though, he reached around to grasp at the space between his neck and shoulder, wincing.
A light breeze carried through the area then, rustling the few leaves still left and blowing the hem of his stark white cloak gently. Watching his hair waver from the light current in his reflection, he wondered why he was here. The cove was peaceful..something he didn't get to experience often. But...the boy didn't remember actually getting there. All he could recall was opening his eyes, staring at the mirror image of himself in the water.
Takumi frowned. He could swear his reflection grinned back, coyly.
Stooping down, the cloak pooled around his feet as his dipped a hand into the clear water. The image shattered, and wavered away with the ripples in the water. Slowly, Takumi cupped his hand and brought the water to his mouth, sipping.
It wasn't bad.
'Keh, you're so easily pleased.'
Takumi's eyes narrowed in irritation and he stood slowly, shaking a few stray droplets of water from his hand. "Be quiet."

Recently, Fay had taken to wandering. It led her out of her comfort zone and into strange places she had never even dreamed of. It was quite interesting; much better than sitting around in one place and hoping nothing would eat her, that was for sure. Being so small, it took her much longer to 'explore' than it would normal people, and it had been many months since she had left her home. She had to stop often for little bits of food and some sleep, and these days she was having lots of nightmares. It was probably just because she was somewhere she had never been before, and by all purposes of the word, she was lost. But wasn't that the point?
Suddenly, she heard the sound of water up ahead and she grinned happily. She loved sitting and watching the water; it was so pretty, and peaceful... she could spend a whole day just staring at her reflection. As she neared the sound, another sound came to her. It was someone talking. Yay, maybe I'll make a new friend! She hurried on, her wings fluttering excitedly. Finally breaking out of the forest, she saw a beautiful pond, a waterfall, and a boy in a white cloak, standing by the water. He must have been the one who was talking.
Flying over to him, she stayed close enough that he would be able to hear her, but far enough away that he wouldn't be able to smack her like a fly, which people often tried to do for some reason. She didn't look like a fly at all, did she? Flies didn't wear little dressed made of leaves, and their wings didn't look like flowers, and they certainly didn't look like mini humans, that was for sure. They were ugly, nasty, vile creatures with those creepy eyes that reflected you in them hundreds upon hundreds of times... She shuddered thinking about it, but then turned her attention back to the boy and she flew where he could see her. "Hey there," she greeted cheerfully. "What's your name?" She would never remember it later, but it was polite to ask.

At first Takumi didn't notice just where the words had come from, still lost somewhat in his own jumbled thoughts. The werewolf hoped it wasn't another voice.
He..didn't know if he could handle that.
Quickly; almost nervously, he shot a glance at the water. But his reflection was gone and the water rippled gently, having been disturbed by a fallen leaf.
What's your name?
Finally catching sight of the small figure hovering near the water, Takumi blinked. The lycan had never seen a fairy before, and for a moment he stared with a dubious expression at it, unsure of his own voice.
For a while now Takumi hadn't really spoken aloud to another creature, with the exception of a few brief arguments and mumblings with the voice. He remembered that he did sometimes talk to Emi..but she never really answered back.
'Maybe we could eat it?' The voice suggested, his tone hinting at a grin.
Narrowing his brown eyes, Takumi's head darted to the side. "I said be quiet." The boy grumbled lowly and felt the pang of a headache starting as retaliation for his nerve. Some faint snickering followed, but faded fast. Damn it.
Oh. But the fairy had been talking. To him.
"My name..?" The boy murmured, not seeming to realize what he had said just seconds before. "Ah..I'm Takumi.." Now..what was he supposed to say?
"Um..what..is yours?" He finished, and winced at his own ineptitude. But it was an odd situation to be talking to something that was smaller then his hand.

The boy repeated her question, as though he didn't know what to make of it, and then told her his name was Takumi. What an interesting name, she mused. But that thought was soon replaced by many others as she flew around the boy a few times to get a better look at him. He looked like he hadn't got a good night's sleep in a while and she wondered why that was, but again she didn't wonder for too long. The boy sounded like he hadn't talked to anyone in a while either, although he did manage to string together a sentence that could be asking what her name was. She stopped flying around him and hovered in the air a foot or so away from his face.
"I'm Tallia," she introduced herself, doing what seemed to be a curtsy in mid air, which only managed to look even vaguely graceful because she was naturally that way. If she had to rely on talent, she would get nowhere. "So now that we have the 'who', how about the 'what'? I'm a fairy, as you can obviously see. Unless you're blind? If that's the case, you can't really see me, so you'll have to trust that what I say is true." She giggled quietly. "But you don't look like you're blind, so hopefully we won't have that problem." She watched the boy with interest, waiting for his reply. [/blockquote]

At first, Takumi tried to follow the fairy as she carelessly zipped around his head, but it only seemed to make his headache worse and so he ceased almost immediately.
'Are you sure what just can't kill it?' The voice pined. Takumi didn't bother to answer and provoke it anymore though. The boy knew that if it wanted to enough... it would make him.
Cringing slightly as the cheerful creature stopped close to his face, Takumi stepped back a bit, the folds of his white cloak wavering. But the small girl's quick curtsy managed to procure a small smile from the timid boy, the it quickly faded. Still, he felt less self-conscience for it.
"Ahh..no, I'm not blind.." The lycan murmured, before finally registering her other question through the fairy's quick rambling.
What.
The mark on his shoulder burned, taunting and he gripped in, gritting his teeth.
'Ha. Go on beastie, tell her.'
Takumi glanced over at the small pond. "Human." He lied and winced at the pain in his head. "I...we're human." It didn't matter anyway. The full moon wasn't for a few more days and Takumi was sure he'd be gone before then.
