illness]Name: Colette Lee Lawrence
Nickname: Letti
Age: 16
Race: Human….for now
Job: Daughter of the mayor
Home: Tylwyth-Orias village
Family: Father: Deceased
Step-mother: Elaine Lawrence
Siblings: step-sister: Milly Lawrence (19)
Friends: none
Enemies: The demons and spirits that heartbreakingly taunt her
Love:
She wishes someone would become her knight and shining armor and save her from this horrid nightmare.
Appearance:
Colette has a gentle appearance. Long cinnamon locks with honey gold reflective eyes. Her skin is a pale peach but the color in her face seems to be fading from her “sickness”. Colette’s eyes are what draws attention away from the scars on her body. She stands about 5’3 in height and her cheeks are delicately painted a rosy pink when she blushes or is overwhelmingly happy.
Colette has many other scars curved around parts of her fragile body so she covers up as much as she can when she goes out. Shes deeply ashamed of her appearence, perfect shape but mildly damaged.
Her clothing style is old fashioned but very young and pretty. As the daughter of the mayor she reflects her father and does him proud by dressing in long sophisticated gowns when in public and while in school or in the house she wears more comfortable clothing. Lately, she is unable to wear the pretty clothes her father had given her because of her fatal condition.
Personality:
Colette is soft spoken and gentle with her words. She trys to be the better person like her father had told her before he passed away. Shes good at heart but has a low self esteem and isn’t confident in her abilities. She hides her feelings well and is happy even though her life is threatening her. Shes hanging by a string and believes that no one understands her. She feels controlled and limited and trys her best to cope with life she has even though others put her down and kill her spirit.
Others think of her as being a snobby spoiled young lady because she is living a rich lifestyle. The other girls treat her poorly because of the rumors her step sister, Milly spreads through out the town but Colette refuses to put up any fight feeling it’ll never be worth it.
Weapons/abilities: Colette was born and raised a wealthy young lady and lived her life care free till the age of seven. It was believed that when Colette was born from her mother, her mother died instantly covered in blood and sweat. It was believed that Colette was eating away her mothers stomach trying to get out and when Colette was free from her mothers womb she looked to be a normal human being.
Colette was raised by her father until she was thirteen when he passed away from a life threatening sickness. When Colette was seven that’s when the weird happenings had occurred.
Colettes father was dating a sophisticated young lady named Elaine Cunningham. Elaine’s daughter moved in when Colette’s father was married and was said to torment Colette after a certain situation in their time of play.
Colette became sicker and sicker and no one had known why. Colette claimed to her father that she was seeing things in her sleep. Her dreams became reality and dark entities were able to harm her without fail. Almost every time Colette would fall asleep, the demons she had seen in her dreams would haunt her and create jagged marks all over her delicate skin. Other nights they would torment her more, suffocating her or pinning her till she screamed for help.
Colette’s father had had enough. He gathered all the sorcerers, fortune tellers, and psychics asking them to cure her but nothing would work. Most of the doctors who had tried to medicate her claimed that there was possibly no cure for this illness. Colette was given medication to stop hallucinations but Colette felt that they weren’t hillucinations and it was all real to her.
For months and days she would get little amounts of sleep and soon enough the entities were able to torment her while she was awake.
After a couple years Colette became used to the strange occurrences but she didn’t look any healthier and the occurrences became more frequent. Eventually she was unable to go to school but Milly’s friends would think up ways to harass her, calling her a demon or the worm from hell. The town believed that she was taken over by a dark soul.
Every so often she was let out for fresh air with the help of her father’s servants. When he passed away her step mother treated her like she was scum. Elaine believed so heavily that she was some kind of demon so she treated her like one. Feeding her poorly and keeping her locked away in her room.
It was clear that Colette could see things others could not. The entities would even speak to her. And she would speak back to them trying to convince them to leave her alone.
Vampire form:
As a vampire her senses are heightened. She is able to run quickly almost at the speed of light. Her appearance becomes flawless and scar less and her new soul becomes so strong that it would eventually fight the dark entities till they left her body completely. Her strength grows and her bite becomes venomous. She is also able to feel the emotions of others at will.
History:
I was very concerned for myself. This had been going on since I was seven years old. The pain that ripped through my body as the doctor came closer. I wanted him to come closer but he couldn’t any longer. A force was pulling at him, pulling at me. My step mother raced to the kitchen and rummaged through the draws finding a simple solution to this dire situation.
My step sister, Milly was screaming at the top of her lungs as the pull on me felt tighter. My heart pulsed slower and things around the room began to throw itself through mid air. The window opened, letting the storm break free. It was loud and painful and I wanted it to stop.
Thinking I could hold my own, I covered my ears and told them to stop. Stop tormenting me, stop tareing through my body as if it were frail paper, stop screaming in my ear, so I screamed at them.
The wind became strong and the lights in the house flickered on and off. My step mother managed to bring herself back to me as the doctor hung onto his hat with wide eyes. I bet he had never seen such a terrifying scene before.
I felt the tares in my skin become deeper, I heard them laughing at me. They enjoyed shedding my blood but why me? The pull on my heart became tighter and it burned this time. Yes, this had happened plenty of times before but nothing was this strong. The people of my village named it a curse but I believed it was much more than that.
My eyes became hazy and dark and I could now see them, their distorted faces and twisted figures, I saw them crawling above my bed as I pulled the covers over my chest but they grabbed at them and pinned me down hard.
I knew that if I held my breath the burning would mitigate but it didn’t force them to let go of me.
My step mother finally became brave, thinking enough was enough. She held up the kitchen butcher knife above her scraggly hair. The doctor, who had his arms around me trying to pull me from my awkward position, screamed a loud “No!” and then made his way with difficulty to Elaine, pinning her to the dark, shadowy walls.
from the last I saw of Milly, she was crying, soaked from the rain. The doctor tore the knife from Elaines hand, stabbing it into the thin walls.
“Let go of me!” She screamed with eager eyes. “I’ll kill her!”
“It won’t solve the problem!” The doctor had yelled over the loud wind and rain.
I knew that the demons surrounding my isolated space were the cause of this large storm that swept through my village and I knew that they would stop at nothing to destroy me until I shriveled up and died. I couldn’t be helped and these moments would happen as often as they were now or possibly more.
The burn came back as I took a deep breath. They tried to suffocate me again, holding my throat and drilling deep holes into my back and sides. The doctor pulled out a match from his trench coat, lit it, and waved it in the air. The last I could hear was the low chants of an attempt at an exorcism.
I awoke early two mornings later. My care taker Nora was at my bedside wiping a wet cloth along my forehead.
I felt groggy and the pain was now becoming more severe. I could still feel a burn in my heart and the sudden change of temperature. I was freezing.
I think Nora was the only servant in the household that was brave enough to come near me besides the doctor.
“My dear, you must not move. Your wounds are still healing.” She smiled warmly, trying to keep me calm.
This was the last night I was able to see her face before she was murdered.
“My wounds won’t heal right and they—“ I stopped in mid sentence. I knew that the entities would stop at nothing until they defeated me.
Nora continued to smile her famous smile and tucked me in, leaving me to think alone.
That night. I didn’t sleep as usual. I tried my best to stay awake only falling into brief snoozes to keep me conscious.
I was reading a book, a romance novel to be specific. I heard loud footsteps up the stairs a few loud voices and a drawn out scream. I couldn’t move from fright. I was stunned. Everything was quite the rest of the night and the next morning the doctor explained to Milly and I that we were under his care until Elaine was well again. I knew what this meant. Nora was gone for good.
It seemed to him that Elaine had gone mad and when I thought it had been my fault the doctor tried to convince me that it wasn’t.
Of coarse Elaine was still living with us but she was locked away in her room the same way I was. Since my “illness” had gotten worse I hadn’t been able to go outside for months. My skin became even more pale and I felt more and more exhausted each day. The burn in my heart came in spurts and my wounds weren’t healing as quickly as they should be.
Every now and then the doctor would give me pills to keep me awake at night and he would lay me down, placing a warm rag over my forehead to keep me feeling relaxed and calm. Every now and then he would come in to check on me.
I felt loved by the doctor and prayed that the little entities that were harming me wouldn’t harm him too.
Every few months, the doctor would perform an exorcism and every time he tried it, it would fail. Maybe these entities weren’t inside of me, just haunting me? No one knew what was wrong with me and I felt no one ever would.
As time went on, I watched Milly play outside with her friends. She would find ways to torment me, throwing rocks at my window, her friends calling me “Demon” or “witch” It hurt to hear those names because I wasn’t what they were calling me.
And since Milly knew that Elaine and I were unable to take care of her or be near her she would bring a boy into the house, sneaking passed my bed room and into hers. When I found out that the boy was the one I had secretly felt something for in the past I was mortified. He wasn’t who I thought he was and Milly was doing this to hurt me.
As the days went by, the doctor had eventually passed away of old age. Or maybe it wasn’t that he was too old, maybe it was me…
Our land lord eventually stepped in and told the town sheriff that no one will take care of the girls because…because of me.
People were too afraid that I was being controlled by something dark. My step mother was sent to the town hospital and Milly was now of age and in charge of the house and in charge of me.
I was alone and the torments became stronger. I began to see things out of the corner of my eye in broad day light and the new doctor was so afraid of me that he would slip my medication under the door and run away.
I watched out my window and stared up at the moon. Hoping for some kind of miracle.
