Name: Natalie
Nickname: Nat, Nattie, and to Marcellus, the Chalice.
Gender: Female
Height: 5'1
Age: Undetermined, though she looks to be around 17 years of age.
Species: Artifact, though she looks human.
(An Artifact is someone who was once an inanimate object, often one of great power that was given life and a body through physical or supernatural means.)
Appearance: Natalie has a young, youthful face that betrays her true age and personality. Thin, she has bright, emerald green eyes and her face is framed by a curtain of red hair that is straighter near the top of her head but falls down to her elbows in loose, curly ringlets. Natalie is usual seen wearing a long dress that ends just above her ankles and rests neatly against the shape of her body. It’s sleeveless, but has a short collar that hugs the curve of her throat and is slit slightly down the sides. The dress is a pure white, though it’s patterned with four cerulean butterflies starting from her right hip to her breast, and one on the bottom left. Most of the time she goes barefoot, but around her neck she wears a necklace with a white-gold chain and a small blue crystal in the shape of a raindrop. Sometimes in her hair, she likes to wear a small delicate blue flower for added decoration.
Personality: Most of the time, Natalie can be slightly withdrawn. She doesn’t like to get to close to people because she is used to leaving them after a short time. Her posture can make her seem slightly insecure, as she is always folding or placing her hands behind her back or playing with her hair or necklace. But really, she hates people to think that she needs or wants to be protected and will often scorn attempts to do so and is more then likely to charge into a fight recklessly in order to prove herself. But there is a dainty side to Natalie, though she doesn’t show it often out of intimidation. But she is intelligent and has something of a witty side. She’s very tight lipped about her past, and is easily stressed when the topic comes up, not easily trusting.
History: Natalie doesn’t have much of a grasp on what she is. For as long as she can remember, she was raised in a small temple deep within in the Cyan desert, being raised by the scholars there and brought up with the idea the she had parents once, but that they abandoned her. Spoiled and taken care of from a young age she was kept as something of a secret even within her odd home, never being allowed to leave or venture to far.
This fostered something of a rebellious side in Natalie. She would constantly try to sneak away as far as she could in spite of her caretakers worry or warnings. She grew older but hardly aged, and often pestered the scholars with questions about her origins, coming off as irritated when they would refuse to answer them.
But the girl manged to convince them to train her, more to ward off the boredom then anything else. Then one day, she devised a plan. She's sneak out, using her training and make it her best escape yet. Still a child, it was all mostly a game to her. And her plan did succeed. She escaped the temple, and wandered to a nearby market. There Natalie was awed by things she had never seen before because of her confinement, and drank it all in.
As the sun began to set, Natalie decided to head back to the temple and deal with any punishment she might receive for running off. Even though they kept her there, she still formed some relationships. It was her home, and it always had been. It was all she knew.
But as she neared it, Natalie could tell something was wrong. The torches that normally lit the cavernous halls were all extinguished..and it was far too quiet. And then, she came upon them. The bodies of the scholars and servants littered the deserted halls. It was a bloody seen, the bodies mutilated though it appeared that some had tried to defend themselves..only to be run through with there own weapons.
Before she knew it, Natalie was suddenly thrown against the nearest wall, a cold hand clutched around her throat. The young girl gasped in fear..only to look into the smirking face of Marcellus. Tauntingly, he explained to her what she was, and why he was sent to retrieve her. But as the Proxy moved to knock her out, Natalie reached forward in fear, grasping the side of his face. Suddenly, she cried out, immersed in dark images, memories of the Proxy's past..the things he had done. Marcellus too was effected, caught up in Natalie's own thoughts and forced to experience her emotions..ones that he had never felt before..and were never supposed to.
She used this opportunity to escape him, but now is still constantly on the run from Marcellus, trying to find temporary sanctuary when she can. But Natalie never stays to long, afraid of endangering others with her presence.
Powers: Natalie can conjure what appears to be a cloud of beautiful white and pink plum blossom petals that appear as if swept by the wind to circle her opponent, mesmerizing them and eventually causing them to slip into a sleepy, dream like state where they are immersed in their happiest memories as if reliving them. While trapped they are immobilized by the petals and Natalie can use this as a distraction or, with a snap of her fingers- cause each petal to combust with a small explosion. And in the large amounts that the petals normally congregate in, this can be very destructive. She’s inhumanly fast and has above average strength, and also seems to possess an uncanny talent for disappearing quickly. Natalie can also force shock images upon a person by being in physical contact with them, though she has little control over what the person actually sees.
Weapons: Natalie carries one elegantly crafted tessen. On the outside it looks like a normal folding fan, though it is made of a cedar colored iron on the outer spokes and the inside is pink, with red plum blossom stencils. The fan is impeccably strong and easily hidden and can be used in combat, as a throwing weapon or to aide off arrows and darts. She also carries two more common, midnight black sai with silver hand grips, though both weapons can be used interchangeably.
Other: It’s mostly unknown why Marcellus has a weird fascination with her and refers to her only as The Chalice, though Natalie does seem to know a bit more then she lets on.
