Name: Casper
Nickname: Cassie
Gender: Male
Height: 6’1
Age: Casper appears to be anywhere from 16-18, but he has never really bothered to keep tract of his age. If asked, he’d estimate a few hundred years, though it’s probably more.
“Age is something that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese.”
Species: Vampire
Appearance: Casper has pale skin and a face that is gentle, while still having masculine qualities. He’s handsome with a lithe, well toned body and deep amber eyes. His hair is a pale blond color that is short and wisps about his face, then getting shorter near his neck. He typically wears a black collared dress shirt made of light material and a pair of tan dress pants. His shoes are just comfortable black leather shoes with black or blue socks. More often than not, he can be seen wearing an old grey-black scarf with frayed ends, no matter the weather. He also has a necklace that looks hand made out of a thin black cord with a carved wooden bead, a small fang and a piece of black downy feather hanging from it in a clump at the end. Like the others of his kind, he has slightly larger canines and a piece of leather around his wrist like a crude bracelet. On his waist he has two sheaths for his weapons, held up by black belt. He also carries a small fur rucksack to carry his art supplies and cooking ingredients in…and an apron.
Personality: If anything, Casper is humble. Most of the time and despite the circumstances, he seems perpetually cheerful and carefree though he’s not really an optimist. While others sometimes see his behavior as naïve and stupid, this cannot be farther from the truth. Casper is intelligent, and it’s when he’s not smiling is when you need to worry. Seeming somewhat happy-go-lucky, Casper doesn't care much for his own life, something easily seen in battle. He still feel's guilty, seeing himself as the cause of Iris's death and while he is unhappy, he masks it all with a smile. He’s polite and tends to toss of insults off in a very nonchalant way, finding them mostly pointless. If he can, he would prefer to avoid confrontation, but nonetheless will defend himself and others. While some see him as charming, especially girls, he’s not trying to be flirtatious, just polite.
Casper also greatly enjoys art and in his spare time can often be seen sketching or painting whatever catches his interest. The oddest thing is that even though he’s a half vampire, Casper loves to cook. Even though he can’t eat it, he loves to create new dishes and see people’s reactions to them and considers it an art form of its own. Often, when he does make something he will leave it for others to find and enjoy. He makes most of his money to buy art supplies and cooking ingredients by taking odd jobs, most by cooking restaurants and kitchens. Casper feeds less often than most Half-Vampires because he only goes after certain people, ones that have done some kind of wrong. He’s not under the delusion that this makes it right, but he prefers it to innocents. Because of this, he carries a small flask of blood with in just in case, because he is excessively violent and sadistic when starving, to the point of mutilating the corpses and attacking anything in sight. Casper is fairly ashamed of this quality, and he may become quite distant after an incident.
History: Casper can still remember most of his life as a human because it was a short one. At the age of four Casper’s parents were killed by raiders at their small farm homestead. Instead of killing him they captured him to be sold as a slave. For the next two years he was shifted around from owner to owner because of his stubborn behavior and careless attitude. He hated his ‘owners’, that fact that they took away his parents and the way he was mistreated—and made it known too. This made it hard for him to stay in one place and make any connections with other people.
When he was seven, Casper was to be sold yet again. He was brought to a small town with a number of other slaves, and put on display. Grudgingly, he tried to make himself as less conspicuous as possible, but he still managed to catch the eye of someone when it was dark and his owners were about to send the ones who hadn’t been sold back to their small quarters, to try for another day.
It just wasn’t someone he expected.
Her name was Letitia. She was very good looking and appeared to be no older than 20, but she was much older. Letitia was part of a nearby clan of Vampires who lived on an estate a few miles from the village. The town was usually one of their main feeding grounds, and that was her reason for visiting. Sometimes, she came by the slave grounds to see there was anyone who would be easy pickings. Instead, she found Casper and he interested her. She couldn’t have children though she had always somewhat wanted one and raising someone turned would help reinforce her position in the Clan. So she purchased him, and brought him halfway back to the estate before revealing herself as a Vampire. Needless to say, Casper was not amused. He threatened to kill her if she tried to kill him, and Letitia was impressed by his tenacity. But she really didn’t have any plans to listen to him and turned him anyway. Since he was two young to become a full Vampire, she made him a Half-breed for the time, with plans to finish the transformation when he was older.
At first Casper didn’t like the change at all, but he soon began to warm up to the idea of being a Vampire. He liked the power that came with the change, and he managed to master the powers quickly and the first thing that he did was to go back to the village and kill his slavers, not even bothering to drink from them. Most of the family was impressed with him and his quick learning, though some were irritated that a mere half-breed was getting so much attention. Letitia had also warmed up to him, and even though he still begrudged her slightly, Casper took to calling her ‘mother’. As the years went on and Casper grew older, he refused to be turned into a full Vampire, happy with the was finally turned into a full Vampire, and Letitia had grown close to her ‘son’. He became interested in art, and soon discovered that he had a talent for it and most of his time became concerned with drawing.
One day while in the village and looking for a meal, Casper came upon a small restaurant where one of the workers there caught his eye. She was pretty, if somewhat tomboyish and was working a grill and a number of other things. The half-vampire decided to target her, and made his way over to charm her, as he normally did. It didn’t really turn out as planned, and she saw right through him. After dodging a frying pan and becoming closely acquainted with an unfortunately placed pot of hot au-jus, he retreated more irritated than he had been in a long time. Her name was Iris, and she was an apprentice chef at the restaurant. For some reason, he kept coming back to the shop and the two mostly ended up in a situation just like their first meeting or trading barbs. One time, after he insulted her profession, she told him that he was just mad because cooking was the only thing he couldn’t do.
Then it was on.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”
Gritting his teeth, Casper shot the girl an irritated look with the kitchen knife clasped tightly in his hand. “I’m cutting the onion. For the sauce.”
Her blue eyes narrowing, Iris swept the half dismembered root of to the side and shoved some garlic at him. “There’s no onion in the sauce.”
Casper frowned at her. “There was onion in the last sauce—“
“That was an onion and mango sauce, for the zucchini. This is a spicy parsley tomato sauce for the roast beef.” She slapped her hand across the hunk of raw meat next to her for emphasis. “Onion would make it too savory.”
“How the hell was I supposed to know that?” He snarled, smashing the clove apart with a little more force than necessary. “It’s just a stupid onion.”
Smirking, the girl brushed a lock of brown hair from her face and held a tiny piece of paper up to his face. “It’s called a recipe. For all your high mightiness, you can still read, right?”
Their odd little relationship continued for a few years, with Casper mellowing down somewhat. He learned about cooking, and even though he couldn’t eat what he made, the process of creating new things began to grow on him, evolving together with his art. His change in personality began to worry the Clan, and some of them began to worry that he would endanger the Clan. After a few more years, with Casper remaining un-aging and Iris still in good shape the two both came to the same conclusion about their feelings for each other, in spite of Casper’s clan and vampirism. They continued on, happy for a bit, while Casper tried to protect Iris from his Clan becoming more and more separated from them. When they had finally had enough, they went to Letitia who supported her 'son' and was killed for her defiance. The same night, they sent a Vampire out to end Iris, and he succeeded but met the same fate—and a worse one at Casper’s hands. After that, Casper became totally separated from his family and left the estate and the village, taking with him a few possessions and a few of Iris’s. Over the years he has humbled greatly, almost completely different from his former being after a long period of self-reflection, and has developed some odd quirks of his own.

Enemies: His family
Powers: As mentioned above, Casper has his powers that come with being a Vampire. But he also has the power the see and draw a person or creature’s ‘inner self’, whatever that may be.
Friends: Iris(Deceased)

Occupation: Artist/Chef
Class: Wanderer
Other: None.
And even though he can’t sleep, Casper often slips into a meditative state to relax and almost mimic sleeps effects.
The scarf he wears is Iris’s, and the necklace he has was made for him by his mother. He also carries around a small book of dried flowers that Iris used to collect, and he still adds new ones. Every once in a while, Casper does manage to sneak back into the village and visit Iris’s grave.
