It was getting late.
The desolute stone structures cast deep shadows in the early twilight, offset only by a lone figure making it's way through the ruined remains.
He, like anything else seemed distinctly out of place among the skeleton buildings. He didn't belong there..and frankly, didn't know why he was there in the first place.
Brushing a lock of dark hair from his face, Chetan balanced on the edge of a shattered stone wall. For the past few days he had been on the move with no destination really in mind. And now he was here...and couldn't help but wonder why.
The air was still and spoke of nothing but an emtiness familair to places such as this. It was bleak..and at the same time, strangely familiar...and this bothered him greatly.
Placing a hand on the wall he lept off of it lightly, sliding down into a sitting position with one arm at an angle resting on his knee. Chetan sighed in exasperation, feeling tired. A nervous habit, the blue eyes boy subconciously rubbed his bandaged arms and leaned his head back until it hit the stone of the wall, eyes closed.
‘Isn’t it hard..to keep secrets from yourself?’

A light wind carried away a drifting flow of tiny, sparkling ice crystals through the ruins. As they traveled through the air they soon drifted apart even further and dissapeared into the wind, sending an wavering chill through the area.
Cold, dark eyes narrowed on the figure as he carelessly slumped himself down against the ruin's wall. Pfft. What an idiot.
Another figure then appeared from behind a nearby structure, seeming to be that of a young boy. His gaze was cold and distant, though staring at Chetan without any denial. His disrrayed, spikey white hair blew lightly in the soft breeze as his eyes narrowed on the stranger further. His katana was strapped behind his back, not attempting to hide it.
The boy sighed, his eyes glancing away irratively. His hands where curled into fists at his sides; his posture was overall confident, but seeming rather bored.
So... this was it, then? It wasn't much of a chase. Sort of pathetic, really. Grumbling to himself, the boy regained his cold stare and turned his gaze back to Chetan. Something was off. It wasn't right. Maybe finishing him off so quickly wouldn't be the best plan. Ask some questions, then dispose of him. Simple as that.
"For a traitor that's being hunted," the boy murmured, addressing Chetan in a low, disatisfying tone, "I'd except you at least provide me an interesting chase. You're still pathetic. I see that hasn't changed."

Eyes still closed, Chetan sighed deeply as a brisk wind swept through the area. Brow furrowing slightly, the boy shifted against the bothersome chill..one that came in the middle of summer.
He heard the stranger before he saw him, that first thought having already put him on edge. Opening his eyes slowly, Chetan tilted his head forward just as the other boy began to speak in a bored tone, his expression blank.
Traitor.
The word made him narrow his eyes, though that really the only thing he recognized in the Angel's speech. Placing his hand on the wall behind him, the Lycan stood slowly, his hands at his sides.
Instead of meeting the boy's insults with hostility, Chetan merely sighed in exasperation and casually shoved his bandaged arms in his pockets. Being hunted..? Honestly, Chetan was clueless. The first thing he thought was that this had something to do with being a Werewolf..but this boy wasn't ordinary.
"I think you have the wrong person." He replied dubiously, feeling mildly annoyed. "Because I have no idea what you're talking about." Ruffing his dark hair, Chetan let out another sigh and focused his gaze on the stranger, his sapphire eyes glancing at the katana warily.
"Who are you?"

Mitsuru squinted eyes at Chetam irratively, unsure about his clueless reaction. Was this some sort of a game to him? The thought made Mitsuru's eyebrows arched even further together, gritting his teeth.
"Don't be coy with--!"
"Who are you?"
The boy's eyes widened instantly in shock, taking a lo\ong moment to realize what he had just heard. Was this... some kind of an idiotic joke?
"What..." He was staring forth at Chetan's in disbelief, but then quickly his distant gaze swept over his features again, now seeming as cold as he was before. Just what... happened to him... after he was banished?
"You should know well of what I'm talking about," Mitsuru growled, his dark eyes narrowing of Chetan once more, "You weren't cast upon this damned ground for nothing!"

Chetan frowned steadily at the other boys irrtiated reaction. All he did was ask a question, the kid didn't have to get so pissed off..unless. Chetan narrowed his eyes slightly, his nonchalant expression fading for a quick moment.
Did he..know something?
Slowly, he raised his bandaged arms and tucked them behind his head, leaning back on the stone wall behind him. It didn't matter.
He didn't want to know anything about his past beyond the memories he had now..and the ones that continued to haunt him in his dreams.
"Well I don't." The lycan answered back, frowning at Mitsuru, annoyed both at the Angel and himself. "And to me, that makes absolutely no sense. I've always been on the ground."
Chetan narrowed his eyes. "I'm a Wolf."
"So I'll ask again...who are you? And who..do you think I am?

He's always been on the ground? Tch. Yeah, and Mitsuru is the powerful old guy himself. The boy's face as dark and frustrated, his hands finally curling into fists at his sides when Chetan kept on adding a bunch of nonsense to his words. His kept his eyes on him as the lycan casuaully leaned his back against the ruin's wall. Idiot.
"A wolf?" he murmured simply, unfazed and uninterested at his new persona. "That's something. First you start out as someone knowledgebale, someone worth knowing. And then, you're trash. Something that should be better off disposed of..." as Mitsuru spoke, he liited his arm behind his shoulder, and slowly unsheated his sword, "...something, that's just wasting their breath."
The boy held his katana steadily across his figure, his expression unchanging.
Who was he?
"Mitsuru,"
The flow of ice particles began to reappear, floating around the boy as two giant wings quickly formed on his back. Expanding them halfway, the child tilted his head downwards slightly, sliding his rght foot back. He raised his sword to his eye level, his narrowed eyes never leaving Chetan.
"... the Elemental Angel of Ice."

The lycan frowned as Mitsuru's gaze darkened further, though Chetan didn't know what he was supposed to do about it. All he could tell the Angel was what he knew to be the truth.
But his lax stance straigtened as the other boy drew his weapon, his own confusion dwindling as the tension spiked. Disposed off. Now he knew that there was no way to convince the Angel that he wasn't who he thought he was.
Elemental.
His blue eyes widened in a sudden realization..though he wasn't sure exactly what that was. But he still knew..that this situation just became a whole lot worse.
"I don't know who you think I am." Chetan said seriously, his right hand placed on the wall behind him. "But if you think that I'm just going to lay down and die because I'm trash..then you're mistaken."
He didn't want to fight him and would try to avoid it if he could. Part of him wasn't even sure he could handle a minute in this fight, as he was now. He didn't know what that was supposed to mean either.
With a low snarl, the lycan twisted on his hand and pushed himself up so he landed back on top of the low wall in a crouch..even as his features changed. The transition was smooth and well practiced, almost like the dropping of an illusion. In his place stood a larger then average wolf covered in coal black fur, though the color of Chetan's sapphire eyes still remained.
"Just leave me alone."

A wolf... hn. So, he wasn't kidding.
"What happened to you after your banishment is still a mytsery to me, but I know this much is for certain--"
In the matter of a second, Mitsuru was gone from sight, but suddenly reappeared on top of a cracked pillar; five ice needles ready at his finger tips.
"--You're still the same Chetan I was sent to kill. And I'm not going to ignore my orders just because you don't remember who you truly were!" with that said, Mitsuru flung his arm outwards, sending the five needles dlying in Chetan's direction. if even just one struck him, the part of his body would be encased in a thick layer of ice.

Pinning his ears back, Chetan's maw formed into a solid snarl, exposing his many sharp teeth. The Angel's words nagged in the back of his mind, all too familiar and altogether unwanted.
He couldn't afford to dwell on it now.
His body tensing, the wolf lept quickly to the side just as the neddles impacted the stone he once stood on, covering the ruined structure in a curtain of ice. He rebounded off of another few pieces of rubble in sequence and with power not seen in a normal wolf launched himself at Mitsuru, canines bared.

Fool.
Mitsuru flexed his sword as the wolf evaded his attack, bringing it back infront of himself. As the wolf leapt up at him, Mitsuru slashed his katana out to the side, creating a blast of ice in it's wake. The sharp shards of ice shot out towards the wolf. And, at the wolf's speed towards him, they were most likely unavoidable.
...Pathetic.
(( Short... O^O; ))

Damn. Chetan gritted his teeth, his dark brow furrowing as he sped toward the shards of ice. Moving in mid air was a definite problem, but the lycan managed to get enough spin to turn and keep himself from being completely impaled. But only that.
The beast let out a pained hiss as the closest shard cut a deep slit into his side, stretching from his the top of his left front leg and along the side of his stomach.
Bastard. Chetan hit the ground unsteadily on all fours, glaring up at the Elemental. Running would become an even bigger problem now if he tried that. Still, he couldn't just do nothing. Trying to evade would have to work for now until he could think of a better plan.
'Another unfortunate situation I see. A sudden voice said casually, as if just discussing the weather.

That's it. I'm done wasting my time with him.
Mitsuru's grip on his sword tightened as he stared down darkly at the wolf onder him. The boy narrowed his eyes on the lycan, gritting his teeth in anger. He raised his sword out to his right, flexing it in his hand.
"...You're finished."
The child's wings spread out suddenly, then taking a full charge down at Chetan. He held his sword out in front of him, aiming for the dog's heart.

'I was afraid this would happen. I really can't have you dying on me now.'
Chetan winced in pain, the gash along his side dripping blood onto the parched ground below. The wolf was crouched low, both trying to steady himself and watch the Angel...dealing with the voice just added a whole new problem. The lycan could have sworn he'd heard it before.
'But the main problem still is that you can't defend yourself as you are.'
Shut up. He hissed mentally, the whole conversation seeming out of tune with the current reality.
While I'd really rather not do this, I suppse I don't have a choice. It took most of my energy to break you from this before but I can only bring you back so far.'
Taking a step back as Mitsuru began to charge, Chetan let out a low snarl at the voice's casual tone. He didn't like were this impromptu conversation was going one bit. Something felt wrong.
Stop it!
'I do apologize in advance.'
And his world exploded in a sudden rush of pain both mental and physical. It was worst then he'd ever felt before, or at least remember feeling.
He layed pressed against the scorching stone as a sickening crack broke the silence, followed by another, and another as the wings were ripped forcebly from his back, a symphony of tearing skin and broken bone..
On the outisde, Chetan hook and slowly faded back to human form, hunched over in a half crouch on the ground. The gash on his side was already healing over, but he didn't even seem to be paying attention to Mitsuru, his face shadowed hidden in shadow.
"Hn."
Suddenly, a large crystal shard shot out at an angle from the ground in front of the kneeling boy, black as onyx...and right for a collision with the Elemental of Ice.
A low chuckle issued forth from Chetan, and slowly he raised his right hand. Another dark mineral formation grew from the ground underneath it, and he used it to get push himself back to his feet.
Tilting his head to the side slightly, the thing that used to be Chetan stared impassively in the direction of the Angel, his once blue eyes now colored a deep bloodred.
"Is this..what you expected to see?"

Mitsuru's eyes widened in shock at Chetan's sudden change in defense. He managed to dart off quickly to his right, barely avoiding the shard. His sword grazed it, coating the crystal in a thick layer of ice, and shattering it into sparkling dust.
Recollecting himself, the boy lowered himself to the ground gently, grasping his sword out beside him; a dark grin coming to young features as the traitor speak in a much more famillar tone.
".... More or less," the boy responded passingly, flexing his sword out infront of him once more, dragging his left back behind him. "Still... you have no chance against me."

Chetan seemingly ignored the indirect taunt, his expression blank with the exception of a small smirk. Instead, he gripped the crystal spire that he was leaning on and pulled--drawing out a slender item that seemed the grow from the crystal itself.
"Just fight." He hadn't spilled any blood in a long time. And this..would be fun either way the battle went. Truthfully he valued his own life very little. He only needed to survive because his Master willed it.
Casully, he used a small piece of crystal to cut the bandages the were wrapped around his arms, the arcane tattoos that marked him as a traitor visible as the wrappings fell away.
Narrowing his red eyes, he held the kodachi with one hand in front of him horizontally. The short sword was as black as the mineral it came from, blade and all and the hilt was a jagged conglomeration of short but sharp jutting crystal. The weight was familiar.
Quickly, Chetan drew is hand along the closest ruin wall, slivers of crystal clinging to his fingers as he did so. With a fast flick of his hand, he sent the shards flying toward the Angel.
